Come Check Out the Wild Lacrosse Opening Weekend

Local sports fans are invited to experience the speed, skill, and excitement of box lacrosse when the Comox Valley Wild Lacrosse Association hosts its home opening weekend on April 25 and 26 at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.

Box lacrosse, one of Canada’s official sports, is played indoors and is a high‑energy, fast‑paced game often described as the fastest game on two feet. With quick ball movement, physical play, and rapid scoring chances, it’s an exciting sport for both players and spectators.

The home opening weekend will feature a full slate of youth games, and everyone is welcome to come watch, cheer on local athletes, and learn more about this uniquely Canadian sport.

The Comox Valley Wild represents children and youth from Black Creek to Fanny Bay, with players ranging in age from 5 to 15 competing in the Vancouver Island league, tournaments across British Columbia, and Provincial Championships.

In 2026, the Wild also welcomed players from the Campbell River Ravens to join the U13, U15, and U17 divisions, further strengthening local competition and development opportunities.

Player registration for the 2026 season is now closed; however, families interested in the sport can watch for learn‑to‑play drop‑in sessions beginning in January 2027 for youth aged 5 to 15 who want to try box lacrosse for the first time.
